all this electricity behind made our record ROCK

There have been a few reports in the last couple of days that Dinosaur Jr., veteran indie rockers, may have somehow managed to double up all the channels when mastering their recent record, Farm. Their new record label, Jagjaguwar, is recalling the record because it’s about 3dB louder than it should be. They’re even giving fans a free stamp to send the record in for a free exchange of the CD. According to the band, the duplication error occurred in the software when they were copying the masters for production. I’m not sure how this could have happened (that reasoning sounds a little dubious), but perhaps will all the new recording technology coming on to the market, bizarre errors (that people who are listening to loud rock music anyway probably wouldn’t have noticed anyway), can be avoided.
